Itinerary
- Day One of the Week
Journey between Srinagar to Aru in a vehicle.
Time of drive 3-4 hours | Pick-up location for Indiahikes trekkers who are Sheikh Feroze Tours & Travels, Sathu, Barbara Shah Chowk, Srinagar
The Sheikh Feroze Tours & Travels, Sathu Barbara Shah Chowk close to Flourmill, Srinagar, will organize transport. It will start at exactly 11.30 a.m. The cost for transportation includes Rs.500 per passenger, to be paid direct to the driver.
Keep in mind that application, medical screening and verification of documents will start with the start of 4 p.m. It is important to arrive at Aru in time. Don’t go anywhere else during the day prior to the trek.
- Day Two
Aru up to Lidderwat Trek
Trek length: 10 km Trek duration Altitude increase: 7,958 feet up to 9,131 feet

The distance of the trek is 5.6 km | Total time 5 hours Altitude increase: 9,131 feet to 11,039 feet
Moderate. In the initial couple of hours the trail was gradually climbing, with a few short walks. In the distance of Homes you will find the crossing of the river which is followed by an ascending process.
- 4TH Day
The journey began from Shekwas to Tarsar
Distance of trek: 5 km Trek time 4 hours Altitude gain: 11,039 feet up to 12,449 feet
Moderate. Constant ascent, mostly with gradual inclines, until the summit, before crossing the meadows of Tarsar.
- 5TH Day
Tarsar to Sundersar trek
Distance of the trek: 5 km Time to complete the trek 5 hours Altitude increase: 12,449 feet to 12,946 feet
Moderate. An ascent that is steep to the pass follows by a descent before a gentle ascend to Sundarsar.
- Day SIX
The trek takes you through Marsar starting from Sundersar until Homes.
Distance of the trek: 9 km Time to trek 7 hours | Loss of altitude from 12,946 feet to 11,500 feet through 13,021 feet
Moderate. The climb to Marsar takes around an hour. After that, you descend slowly to Homes.
- 7TH DAY
Take a drive towards Srinagar after hiking to Homwas towards Aru.
The length of the trek is 13 km | Time to trek Altitude drop: 11,500 feet to 7,958 feet
Easy. The trail is gradual descent until Aru. The cost for transportation is Rs.3,000 per taxi (5-6 seats). The driver is required to be paid in cash directly.

Our lung was filled with alpine air , and our hearts filled with joy taking our Tarsar Marsar Trek!! It was one of our most satisfying moments. We did not just explore the beauty in Kashmir as it is in the purest sense, but we also learned that true joy can be found in the simplest things.
TARSAR MARSAR TRACK BEST TIME to visit
The best time to travel is between July through October. Aru is a summer destination. Aru are the best between the months of July and August. It is the ideal time to take a trek. It’s also popular in the snowfall (October) that makes it more attractive.
We visited the park during the last weekend of the month of July. The trail was filled with wildflowers and lush greenery blooming. The weather was perfect and the night temperature was pleasant.
